Sports Illustrated swimsuit models, athletes leaving Trump Models as closure looms

Chalk up a deadly athlete to the list of models that are leaving Donald Trump’s agency, Trump Models.

Mia Kang, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and Muay Thai fighter, is the latest to leave the modeling agency.

SI model Danielle Herrington also left Trump Models, and fashion industry insiders believe the mass exodus will result in its closure in a few weeks.

Representatives from Donald Trump’s camp have refused to comment despite multiple media outlets’ requests.

In February, Refinery29 reported that various groups of people in the industry, “including casting directors, makeup artists, and hair stylists, were calling for a full boycott of Trump Models.” Sources from a Mother Jones report say the president’s politics have pushed them over the edge.

Trump Models came under scrutiny last year over allegations that the agency hired models without visas to work in the US. Business Insider spoke with two former models from the agency in February. According to the report, the models claim they were told to lie about their professions to customs agents.
